New here as of yesterday. I am hoping to find some help with snacks and safe foods. Also ordered the tapes yesterday. I love salty snacks. Unfortunately most of them are also fatty/greasy which doesn't help IBS. Like wheat thins, chips, nuts but have to eat them in moderation. Also love cookies but between the butter and sugar have to watch that too. Can eat a couple a day. Am curious, do lots of you have lactose intollerance as well or could it not really be the lactose but something else in those foods that make us think we are lactose intollerant? I have just practically given up on desserts and LOVED cheesecake! Bananas are good for me, canned peaches. Can't tollerate raw veggies or fruit at all.

You've never had angel food cake? OMG! Girlfriend, are you in for a treat!

Sometimes I put a little bit of almond flavoring in mine.

Angel food cake is great with a little ready-made frosting or fresh WILD blueberries (forget the canned stuff).

Goferit.

I can't tolerate lactose on certain days. Since I can't predict when those days are (!), I mostly abstain. I have made a switch to soy cheeses, cream cheese, butter, sour cream and milk. That's NOT to say that I don't have a little dairy from time to time. I have a few bites of cheesecake after a high soluble fiber meal, as a treat. The other day I ate an entire portion of icecream at an excellent Afghani restaurant, but there was so much soluble fiber in the meal that I think the icecream snuck right by!

I can do bananas, but I can't do many other fruits and veggies raw, either. That's why I'm having a little trouble with snacks. I never was a "salty" snacker. I like the sweets!!! (I'm a chocolatier!) I'm going to have to try the AD brownies. They sound good!
