Caffeine and chocolate       01/09/04 11:37 AM Edit Reply Quote Heather Reged: 12/09/02 Posts: 7799 Loc: Seattle, WA Hi - Solid chocolate is a trigger for IBS because it's so high in fat, and it often has dairy in it. Cocoa powder (unsweetened baking cocoa powder, like Hershey's) has had the fat removed. And, in chocolate, the caffeine is tied to the fat, so when you remove one you automatically remove the other. Plain cocoa powder will also be just cocoa - no dairy or anything else added.
