Irritable Bowel Syndrome Message Boards | Locked posts, sailors and Christians, the whole shebang

Okay, enough is enough!

I'd to ask everyone to please move on from these threads, and not start any new ones on the same subject. I try really, really hard to keep these boards as open and inclusive and uncensored as possible, while also keeping them friendly and tolerant towards all. Sometimes that's an impossible line to walk.

I rely on folks on the boards to censor themselves according to basic courtesy and consideration, and the wonderful thing is that almost all of the time, this works. On the very few occasions that it doesn't, it's pretty much always a result of a misunderstanding instead of any open hostility. In these cases, I prefer to just close the problematic thread instead of deleting. I assume that when people see a thread is locked, they'll realize why (it's usually pretty obvious) and simply move on. But, this might not be the best move on my part, so in the future it may be a better idea if I post a little comment when a thread is locked (or deleted) so it's crystal clear what's going on.

So, moving on, everyone involved in the recent posts is an innocent party as far as I'm concerned, and I hope that no one will leave the boards as a result of this. That would be the real shame.
