Make sure you're drinking a lot of water...

if you decreased your protein intake and increased carbohydrates, you need to make sure you're drinking plenty of water. If you came from a high protein diet, this is actually dehydrating. Once you stop, your body holds on to the extra water it can now retain - this is a good thing, because your body needs the water. And as odd as it sounds, if you increase the amount of water you're drinking, it will actually allow your body to eliminate the extra water/bloating. That 5 pounds may just be water weight, and drinking more water will eliminate it.
