Hi Michele - I don't know anything about this, I'm so sorry.
There is a chance that this is what's causing your "IBS" and if they remove the tumor all of your symptoms will disappear. There's also a chance that the presence of your tumor, if it was triggering symptoms, could have led to the development of IBS (the "insult to the gut" theory), and you now have both problems. There's also a chance that if you don't have IBS, any invasive procedure they use to diagnose/remove the tumor could then be an insult to the gut and lead to the development of IBS.
So, at this point, being proactive on the IBS end of things can only help and not hurt. If you can try to keep your gut stable and calm, particularly once they start doing procedures on you, this will help minimize the risk of developing IBS if you already have not.
