but this can be a really wonderful tool to help your body and mind accept that you did not ask for IBS, that you did not bring it on yourself, or that it is somehow a punishment you deserve. It's simply an illness, and for reasons that are still mostly unknown some people simply develop it at different points in their lives. There is no one and nothing to blame here - certainly not yourself! You didn't ask for IBS, and you don't deserve to have it - but you do, and simply accepting that can actually be one of the biggest steps towards starting to truly manage and overcome it.
