Hi - I found the FDA list of foods with the highest magnesium levels at web page

The buckwheat flour makes great pancakes, and you could also get buckwheat noodles (soba noodles). Both are very tolerable for IBS. Fish, barley, corn meal, and soy are also pretty high, and very easy to incorporate without IBS problems. Spinach and white beans just need to be cooked till very tender and eaten with a soluble fiber base.

I have not heard of magnesium deficiencies being common with IBS. It will be interesting to see if the post gets a lot of responses.

One thing to maybe ask your doc about - there are calcium/magnesium supplements. The combination might work for addressing the deficiency but not trigger diarrhea, as calcium has a constipating effect. I'm just theorizing here, but maybe this could keep things in balance?

Best,
Heather
