Thanks Lazarus! Enteric coated peppermint capsules have several clinical studies supporting their effectiveness for IBS. There's even been a study using the capsules in children. They are very, very safe and can be taken by most people daily on a long term basis.

Because they're enteric coated, they don't dissolve in the stomach, which means they are unlikely to cause problems with reflux or heartburn the way other forms of mint can.
