Hi - I've almost finished the bottle. When I take them just two at a time the way you're supposed to, I'm just fine.
I actually tolerate all of the soluble fiber supplements really well - even psyllium. My favorite for a while was Benefiber, but it's awfully expensive. My new favorite is the acacia I've been sampling, that I'm going to add to the website. I like the ones that just dissolve into nothing, with no added flavors or colors or such. And I don't mind a bit of thickening, but not too much. I do find the powders work better than the pills for me, but the pills definitely work so I keep Equalactin or Fibercon (or generics) in my purse for when I'm out.
This is one of those areas where everyone can be so different. I haven't yet found a soluble fiber supplement that is universally well-tolerated. Someone is always the exception! In general, folks seem to do best with Benefiber or plain Citrucel. But that's not a hard and fast rule, either.
I'm really hopeful that the acacia will be a great option for people who don't like or tolerate the other types out there. It's much less likely to cause gas or bloating, and it also helps increase the good gut flora.
I'm afraid you'll have to try a few different varieties to see what works best for you and which type you like (or don't). Sorry there's no firmer answer here...
