Hi Ruchie - Avocados are high in soluble fiber, and actually not high in fat. They're high in fat FOR A FRUIT - but most fruits are entirely fat free. A whole avocado has about 100 calories from fat - that's a tablespoon. You're not likely to eat a whole avocado out of hand - you'd have it with baked chips as guacamole, or some slices on a sandwich. So if you eat 1/3 of the avocado as a serving size, that's only 1 teaspoon of oil. And, it's monounsaturated heart-healthy oil. Since the IBS diet is low fat, the fats that you do eat need to be healthy choices. Avocado fits the bill here.
