Hi - I'm so glad you're doing better! And I do think that the more stable you are, and the longer you stay that way, the less likely you are to have attacks and the milder they tend to be. I also think that you'll recover and restabilize much more quickly. The gut seems to get itself into patterns and want to stay that way - either a cycle of attacks or a cycle of stability. It's easier to stay in a pattern than to break out. I've experienced exactly what you have in this regard. Some of the scientific rationale behind the patterns of the gut (which tie into the gut's nervous system and that system's interaction with the brain) is laid out pretty well in the serotonin articles posted in the hypnotherapy forum.

It might be the honey that's bothering you. It is high in fructose, which can cause gas and cramping. Usually the amount of honey used to sweeten a glass of tea isn't enough to bother people, but some folks are much more sensitive to fructose than others. Try the fennel and peppermint teas totally unsweetened and see what happens.
