It's likely the insoluble fiber...

Kernel corn, popcorn, anything with whole corn kernels is going to have a lot of insoluble fiber and cause problems. If the corn is processed into corn meal, corn cereals, polenta, etc. the insoluble fiber is really pulverized and much less likely to cause problems.

For corn chips, make sure they're baked, not fried, or the high fat content will get you.
