Hi - I think your dose is way too high. As Mags noted, if you've switched from Citrucel to Acacia the dose in terms of grams of fiber may not be the same in terms of spoonfuls.

At most, you'd want an individual dose of the Acacia to be 1 level tablespoon. You could eventually take 3 level tablespoons per day, in divided doses (you don't want to take a single glass with all 3 T).

My guess is you've really upped your fiber intake without realizing it. Try decreasing your dose to 1-2 level teaspoons of the Acacia twice a day, then gradually increase each dose by 1 level teaspoon.

It can be a balancing act to get enough soluble fiber to normalize your bowel function without starting off at a dose so high it triggers gas and bloating. I don't know a way around this but to start at a lower dose and gradually increase. That will get your bowel function normal but without shocking your gut with a sudden huge increase in fiber.
