gas with IBS can also come from mis-timed bowel contractions, and gut-directed hypnotherapy can address that. Yoga might also be helpful - it does seem to help get bowel contractions back to a regular, rhythmic flow. Yoga will also help expel gas (there are specific gas relieving poses).
