that's where they usually hide soy cheese and tofu too. They'll likely not be anywhere near the dairy cheese - don't ask me why.
Soy milk will be in the dairy case if it's refrigerated, like Silk, or it will be on the "health food" aisle or near flour/sugar if it's the kind packed in aspeptic boxes that are at room temp.
I don't care for Westsoy, but it shouldn't be brown - geez! Did you get the chocolate flavor? If not, then I'd take that stuff back to the store - something is wrong. I like Pacific, Silk, Soy Dream, and Whole Foods generic brand soy milks. I drink vanilla and use plain for cooking.
Any kind of fresh bakery sourdough bread should be fine. Read the ingredients to make sure they're not sneaking dairy in there.
Not sure what your question is about the potatoes - potatoes are a great soluble fiber staple, so no worry there.
