All fats are GI stimulants, and thus potential IBS triggers...

even if the fats are heart-healthy.

So, best idea is to minimize your fat intake but NOT go fat free. So the fats you do eat should be heart-healthy.

Nut butters and non-hydrogenated plant margarines are good choices (as are olive oil, canola oil, safflower oil, flax oil, avocados) but still be careful. Eat them in small quantities with a soluble fiber foundation.
