Except that after being diagnosed at 15, I was 30 before I saw another GI doc and realized I never had any of the necessary tests.

The good news is that my second doc had the same exact comments as your new doc. Aside from the basic blood workups (and stool tests, which will cover the parasite possibility) you likely don't need any more invasive tests.

Fifteen is extremely young for colon or ovarian cancer, diverticulosis, and many of the more serious GI disorders that can mimic IBS.

You may want to get the breath tests for SIBO and fructose intolerance (that may be a blood test, can't remember).

But, I'd agree with your doc that your symptoms combined with your age combined with the fact that you are managing your symptoms well with diet add up to a very solid diagnosis of IBS after all.
