you might transition off it gradually instead of all at once. As you get your Tummy Fiber dose up you should be able to reduce and then eliminate the Imodium. But, this will work better as a steady transition than it will to go cold turkey.

Start with the acacia at 1/2 tsp twice daily, and increase by an extra 1/2 tsp to one dose every 4 days or so. When you get up to about 1 tablespoon per day start to decrease the Imodium. Keep up that pattern, of gradually increasing the Tummy Fiber while you gradually decrease the Imodium.

This is usually a really successful way for people to transition of Imodium or Lomotil (and in the other direction, for them to transition off of laxatives, though that usually takes longer).

I know you want to be off the Imodium completely, but I think the odds of doing that successfully are probably better if you do it gradually while increasing the soluble fiber.
