Has anyone tried the Yoga in a Box series by Cyndi Lee?

I was thinking of asking for this for Christmas as I'm hopeless at remembering which posture to do next and I never get to class (or get the living room to myself!).

They do sound cool, don't they!

I think (don't quote me!) that it's a couple of CDs, plus a flip chart thing of posture pictures plus a yoga strap. The CDs have lessons and/or relaxation music on them. I know there's different levels and I think each one is slightly different.

Linz,

Here's what you get when you order "OM yoga in a box":

* 2 Compact Discs:
Instructional CD with 70+ minute yoga class (This CD can be programmed into 4 shorter, targeted classes, including one especially for brand new beginners) All Music CD, perfect for yoga practice or relaxation
* Flash Cards, showing correct posture alignment and describing benefits
* A Yoga Belt, to help with deep stretching
* A candle, incense and incense holder to help create sacred space

Pretty cool, I agree, but what you do not get is the guidance of a hands on - in person teacher who can make sure that you are doing the postures in a safe way and you also miss out on the energy of being in a class with others. Even the larger yoga retail companies like Hugger Mugger are starting to implement incentive programs to find ways to get folks back into a classroom as at home yoga injuries are on the rise.

I think the Om yoga in a box is great to supplement your home practice with, but if you can... try to make it to a class so you can benefit from a teacher as well. Good luck and if you do get the kit let me know how you like it!

Peace,
K
