Hi everyone,
Okay, as you can tell, I'm new cause I have a TON of question. Well, I was looking at the the recipe for the Cantonese Jok Rice Porridge Soup and I want to make it except for that it has shrimp in it and that doesn't work for me. Shellfish causes me problems that may or may not be related to my IBS (probably not since most of you don't have problems with shrimp and b/c vomiting occurs after I eat shellfish and that's not an IBS symptom) But whatever the case I want to avoid any added discomfort Do you have any suggestions of what I could substitute in instead of shrimp? I"m currently breaking the cycle. Thanks SO much. You are all my saviors Hope you're doing well!

Hmm - sounds like a shellfish allergy, so you'd probably better stay away from those suckers!

I think shrimp is just given as one of many options. You could just leave out the shrimp, or add some grilled/baked skinless chicken if you want some more protein in it.

A little plain cooked white fish is good instead. -nt- new
