I love the 'Eating for IBS'book which I recently purchased in the USA, and am now following the guidelines and have tried out recipes. I have had IBS for many years, though fortunately have always had sympathetic doctors. My problem is that I don't know what all the products are in the UK equivalent. W e don't have canola oil as far as I know, so I use sunflower very light oil instead. Also, what is the best equivalent for cornmeal? and what is a bundt tin?

Puffsox, I've never been to the UK so I can't help you out too much, but there are other Brits on the board who should be able to answer some of your questions! You might want to try posting this same question in the Eating for IBS board. I know Linz and some others from the UK seem to hang around that board more often, and I bet they'd have great advice!

Welcome! Do a board search for this - the topic has come up before and there are posts with all the US/UK equivalents.

Sunflower oil is just fine, corn meal is polenta, and a bundt pan is a round cake pan, fairly deep, with a whole in the middle. It's also called a tube pan. For any of the EFI recipes you can sub a 9" x 5" loaf pan for the bundt.

Hey there!

There's been posts before on different names for foods, like zucchini, etc so do a search for this.

You can get Canola oil in the supermarket, but its called Corn Oil. I prefer using it to sunflower oil.

Also, I really recommend you get a measuring jug with cups on it (available from Woolies among others). When I first got Heather's book, I used a cup and then found out that it was nearly twice the size of American "cup"!
