I made the Honey Glazed Sesame Tuna recipe from the Eating for IBS cookbook ~ and while it was REALLY good, I had a horrible attack of cramping and diarrhea!

Are sesame seeds actually safe for IBS??

In smaller amount they should be no problem. But did you have the tuna with rice or noodles or some other soluble fiber base? Tuna is like salmon in that it is a fatty fish, so you don't want a meal of that alone.

Hope you arefeeling better.
Best,

It could be the honey. Read the first link in my signature for more information on foods such as honey - like high fructose corn syrup - that contain more fructose than glucose which can exacerbate IBS symptoms and in particular cause D. It also talks about other problem foods that have been found through clinical trials to make IBS symptoms worse in many people.

If you can't do the honey try maple syrup! Equally delicious, use same quantity. -nt- new
