Does having IBS mean avoiding just obvious dairy (i.e., milk, yogurt, cheese, ice cream, etc....) or do I also need to be aware of, say, barbecue baked lays chips that have milk as an ingredient way down on the list, etc....how careful are you?

in general, completely avoid dairy if possible. For IBS, small amounts (like the trace amount in the baked chips) are most often tolerable, but not for everyone.

I'd try them and see how you do. Odds are good (just not perfect!)

Thank you Heather! I'm hesitant to add any dairy back in at the moment because the last two weeks have been really great since I read your books and started following the diet guidelines. I can't thank you enough!
