I haven't tried these yet. I think they look safe. Unless the butter may be to much? If not someone please let me know and if anyone trys these let me know. Enjoy.

LEMON BARS:
Crust: 1 c bread flour, 1/2 c powdered sugar, 2 tbsp butter/oil, 1/4 c applesauce. Mix well with fork and press into bottom of a well greased 9X9 pan. Bake 10 min at 350F.
Filling:
1 c sugar
1/2 c cornstarch
1/2 c applesauce
1/4 c lemon juice
3 tbsp flour
1 tsp baking powder ~1/2 tsp canola or olive oil
Being by blending applesauce and lemon juice with cornstarch in food processor or with mixer. edited to add: Add the oil slowly to emulsify other ingredients smoothly. Add the remaining ingredients slowly, ending with baking powder. Immediately pour batter onto crust and return to oven for 25-30 min (until just lightly browned on top).

How should these be stored? Refrigerator or room temperature? Anyone know?

I'd refrigerate them once they're cool. -nt- new
