Another pumpkin pie question...

The pumpkin pie recipe in Heather's book looks great, but I have my own recipe that I've been using for years - that my mother used for years before me - and I couldn't imagine never eating it again. But it calls for Evaporated Milk - could I still substitute soy milk for this?
