I don't know if I have ever seen them before, I really have to start taking more time to go grocery shopping and look for these new items.

I go with my husband and all he does is whine about how long I taking in the aisle or else he takes off and I have to spend the next 10 minutes hunting for him (I usually find him in the junk food aisle carrying diet coke and chips - ironic in itself LOL)

Heidi - My Mom (bless her soul) used to make this for us when we were kids (a very long time ago, it was) and called it Creamette Ravioli (because she used Creamette's elbow macaroni and I think she got the recipe from one of the boxes). But she used ground beef way, way back then. They didn't have ground turkey in the old days. Us kids, and my Dad too, just loved it.

There have been a lot of past posts about this - it's a brand in Canada, and seems to be fairly widely available (and people like it). Might do a board search for the brand to find those threads.

Also, check your grocery store in the produce section, not the dairy section. For some reason they hide the soy cheese by the tofu and bean sprouts.

Lana Marie - ground turkey looks like ground beef, just much lighter in color.

The soy cheeses are in the coolers with the milk products. They usually are by themselves and all together. Everything from soy sour cream to soy cheese, to soy yogurt. If the store doesn't have ground turkey, maybe they have turkey breasts or chicken breasts that they can grind for you minus the skin and bones, of course!

You can get them to do that for you? Grind while you wait?

Because I have not been able to find that. Is there anyway I could do that at home and then re-freeze the chicken breasts?

Also - are the any Canadian's here who shop at Superstore. I used to be a Safeway girl all the way, but they just don't seem to have the selection that Superstore does. I am just wondering because then maybe you others can let me know if you have found these types of things there.

Lana Marie - buy a slow cooker/crock pot and search this forum for slow cooker/crock pot recipes. It basically is just dumping everything in the crockpot in the morning before work, turning it on, and coming home to a cooked meal.

Thanks Heather - Because I have not found them in the dairy section and I have gone up and down that aisle millions of times and haven't found anything.

I have a slow cooker, but for some reason it makes the food taste like plastic. We got it as a wedding gift and have only used it twice because it gives our food a funny taste.

I have yet to find anything to take away the taste. I tried cooking just vinegar and water all day in it. Hoping it would cure it or something, but it never helped.

Lana Marie - yes, they should do that while you wait. Or you can do it at home.

Re: Freezing - the rule of thumb is you can freeze meats once when they're raw and then again after they're cooked. I wouldn't freeze any meats twice while still raw. It pays to be careful, especially with poultry.

Some food processors have grinding attachments or you can just buy a meat grinder and do it yourself. At least that way you know what's in it.

When and if you do it at the grocery store, tell them not to put any fat or skin in the grinder with the turkey. You never know what those butchers do!!

LM - what kind is it and does it have a removable crock or is it metal?
