I went to the grocery store and bought about 5 luna bars and was soooooo excited to eat them after seeing they were safe!! However, I had the s'mores one (the first one I tried) around 2 oclock and later that night at about 6 or 7 i felt TERRIBLE. my stomach hurt so bad and i can't think of anything else I had that day that could have made it feel so upset. I know that there is soy in the product and I am wondering if that is why. I have tried small amounts of soy milk before which have made me gassy so i now use rice milk which im fine with. Does anybody know if it is possible for one with IBS to have such a sensitivity to soy?! If you could let me know that would be great! thanks!

Soy makes me gassy too so I don't eat it. The inulin in the Luna bar might have caused your problem too.

Yes, I tried Inulin one and thought my bowel was going to explody - the gas was almost the worst ever.

I have been drinking soy milk for several years as I can not tolerate dairy. I started making my own soy milk last year. The soy also stopped my hot flashes, completely. This year, after being diagnosed with IBS C, I went on Heather's Diet. I noticed I still had severe cramping and gas. I went without the soy for 4 days and it went away. I tried an experiment and went strong with the soy after an absense. It was the soy that was making me miserable. Almost to the point of being physically sick besides the cramping and gas. NO MORE SOY for me. I use an herb for the hot flashes though, they came back immediately after quiting the soy. It's rice milk for me now. I am allergic to nuts, so can't use almond milk. Try eliminating all soy, and believe me, it's in EVERYTHING. I read labels and can't believe how much soy is used, mostly as an oil. I'm surprised as much as it is a high allergin. I have totally eliminated soy and it has made a huge difference in my life, though I eat a lot less foods now. It has really restricted the foods I'm allowed.
