I have friends coming in town on the 16th and they really want to eat there. Has anyone eating there and if so what did you eat. I looked over their website but I really couldn't find anything safe. Here is the address http://www.rainforestcafe.com/eMenu.asp maybe I over looked something. I am going to call them sometime next week to see what else they have.

Thanks again
Deena

I ate there once in Connecticut. I literally could not find anything - at all - on the menu that was safe. And they were extremely unhelpful (not rude, just totally incapable) about modifying anything. I think most of the stuff is pre-made. It was all meat, cheese, deep fried, or green salads. If I remember right I couldn't even get plain bread.

If your friends really insist on this, make sure you have a good meal first at home, bring some herbal tea bags with you, and ask the restaurant for some hot water to make tea. That hot water is about the best they'll be able to give you.

Just fyi...the food was actually not very good. My husband had a few different things and they were mediocre at best. What other people were eating didn't look so hot either. It's definitely a restaurant where the food takes a back seat to the animals and special effects and such.

This was also a few years ago - maybe they've changed?

They really want to go. They were here last August and we ran out of time and couldn't go. They are doing a favor for us by bring up our 2 beagle puppies. I thought the least I could do was pay for dinner and let them pick the place. I will eat before we go and bring some tea with me. This way I get to talk the whole time because they will be busy eating and I love to talk Plus I think the kids will really enjoy eating there.

Thank you for your help.

Whenever i go out to eat and i can't find anything on the menu, I just ask the waiter for some plain pasta, or bbq chicken with a side of rice..that way you can still eat and those are some pretty safe choices. (granted they're a little boring, but you can still eat.)

Well, I saw on the menu they've got shaved turkey breast wraps, although the wraps have bacon & dressing. You could maybe get one of these without that - or surely they could put your shaved turkey on bread with some lettuce & tomato if you can handle it.

This would be my attempt if I was going - good luck!

You could also try getting a pizza (like the BBQ chicken one) without cheese -- people look at you funny, but cheeseless pizza is actually really yummy.
