Does anyone have any info on how good/bad fruit teas are, especially with regard to upper GI problems? I've been getting into Cranberry and raspberry tea recently and tonight I've started having some acid problems. I have no idea if they're linked as I inadvertantly ate a soya dessert with sweeteners in (and I know they aren't good for me).
Help! I don't want to have to stop drinking this as it's really tasty and my drinks are otherwise really limited.

I have GERD and drink all herbal teas without any problems. Although when my upper stomach hurts or burns along with heartburn I stay away from anything with mint in it. I love cranberry and would never give that up. You had sweetners and you know that is a no no, so my guess that was more of your problem.

Hi - cranberry is quite acidic, so that might be it. The raspberry should have been fine, though. Switch to some safe herbal teas (fennel, chamomile) for a few days to stabilize, then try the fruit teas again on an empty stomach. That should tell you...

I buy the rasberry herbal tea bags and make a pot of iced tea for a change of pace when I get sick of drinking water and want a "cool" drink instead of a hot one. I usually don't have any problems. I also drink a small glass of cranberry juice every morning. Seems to go down fine (as long as I drink it with my breakfast--never on an empty stomach). Kristine

Thanks for the help guys!
I think I probably had the tea on a too empty stomach to tolerate the cranberry. I shall go and get some raspberry (only!) tea and hopefully that's ok as they're yummy. I'm currently doing better on Chamomile.
