I'd like to be able to eat some grains that have a lower glycemic index than the white flour and oatmeal recommended in Heather's Eating For IBS book. Barley and rye both have a lower glycemic index. Her book says that barley has a high soluble fiber content but her book doesn't specify what type of fiber predominates in rye. Please help. Thanks!

Hi - Rye breads are pretty tolerable. Try some and see how you do - odds are it will be just fine.
