Heather,

What can I use as a substitution for the sherry in the Linguine recipe you have in your book? I don't have alcohol at all.

thanks
Trish

Hi - Hmmm, this is a actually a bit tricky, as the sherry adds a lot of flavor to that dish. Marsala or white wine would be my first substitutes, but to avoid the alcohol altogether I'm drawing a blank. You could try veggie broth, or rehydrating a small package of dried wild mushrooms and using the liquid, or maybe a mix of Braggs seasoning and water? If you just used plain water I think it would be pretty bland.

Is there such a thing as non-alcoholic wine? If there is I'd go for that.

Any other ideas from folks?

I've heard of non-alcoholic beer.. so you think they'd make non-alcoholic wine.

Trish,

There's one you can buy in Woolies and Coles - It's called Maison.
