OO, I was wondering about artichokes - are they okay steamed? I am so excited to try this recipe as i could live on hummus - i use it on sandwiches instead of mayo or other condiments. It's fabulous with other veggies like mushrooms and cucumber slices ( seeds removed).

I put about 1.5 tablespoons of tahini in it. I think I will limit the garlic next time. Not that I don't LOVE garlic, but it doesn't always love me. I'm going to make it with the sun dried tomatoes this weekend, I'll let you know how it turns out. Great---now I'm hungry for it!

We made this again and Joe cut the oil down to 1 Tablespoon and added an additional Tablespoon of artichoke liquid (so we're now up to 5 Tablespoons of bean and artichoke liquid). The hummus was a little less firm, but it still tasted wonderful.

We made this for lunch today for the first time in a long time. It had been so long, we forgot we were supposed to save the liquid from draining the beans to add in when blending. So Joe still reduced the oil down to 1 Tablespoon and added 2 Tablespoons of artichoke liquid, but he used 3 Tablespoons of chicken broth also.

We had it with warmed pitas cut in 6ths. It was fabulous!
