I just found this website and want to try Heather's suggestions. However I'm confused about what I can eat with the soluble fiber foods? For instance, if I have pasta, can I have spaghetti sauce - or can I have soy sauce with white rice, or will the sauces likely trigger an attack?

Hi, and welcome!
Soy sauce shouldn't be prob. Tomato sauce is ok for most people...some folks have trouble with onion and garlic though....so you have to try this out and see.
Things to watch out for: High fructose corn syrup and egg yolks. They're in a lot of stuff and you'd never know if you didn't read the ingredients.
Mustard sauces are also usually IBS safe.
Hope this helps.
Happy Tuesday!

Hi there - All you have to totally avoid are the trigger foods like red meat, dairy, egg yolks, fried foods. You can safely incorporate just about anything else with soluble fiber, as long as you follow the guidelines. Check the front page of the board forums for links to the IBS diet guidelines, sample recipes, FAQ, etc.
Also, use the board search button to check for past topics on soy sauce, tomato sauce, whatever else you're looking for.
Best, Heather
