I'm trying to grind the nuts in a coffee grinder and I'm getting this mealy mush. Is this how it should be or is the fact that I'm using walnuts instead of pecans the reason for this problem????

if you just "pulse grind" your nuts you should have a better result.

You might need to use a little hand held nut grinder, or a food processor... new

coffee grinders grind very finely. You want to control the nut grinding so you get fine "crumbs", but if you overgrind you'll release the oils from the nuts and start to get a nut butter - you don't want that.

Yup, that's what was happening......walnut butter! Thanks for the help, I'm making it today so will pick up a nut grinder before I do. I guess walnuts instead of pecans are OK since you didn't say anything about them? Can nuts go stale EVEN if they've been stored in the freezer?

Thanks Heather and Merry Christmas to both of you and all of your family!!

This is the kind of post that really irritates me - not yours, Shell, the one you quoted! Even if there were something really good on AngelEyes' website, I'm put off by such a crass approach!

Oh well, good will to all men, etc ...

contact one of we moderators of the Las Vegas Fall Sprawl board (go to that particular forum) and offer to supply FREE samples of those of your product line that MAY be benificial for digestive health. Those attending at the next meeting, after trying, can then make up their own minds, and compare them with like products from other manufacturers.

This is not the place for this kind of post, in fact it is not appropriate for any of the boards here.
