Crunchy granola

I just tried to make the crunchy oat, fruit and nut granola and I am not impressed...I do not know if it is something I am doing wrong on my part,however I followed the instructions and it just is not sticking together, it is like trial mix. Can someone tell me if they had the same experience and what I could be doing wrong?
Very frustrated with the IBS cooking..

Hi - I'm sorry, I've never made any granola so I'm not sure what the problem is. This recipe was actually emailed to me from a reader who wanted it posted on the boards but couldn't figure out how to post it herself.
It may be that recipe is not intended to form clumps of granola, but to be more like trail mix. Was there enough sugar syrup to mix everything together when you made the recipe? All I can think is that you may need more syrup, or perhaps add a little canola oil (try 1/4 cup) to the syrup mixture. It's either the syrup or fat that will hold the granola together.

Thanks so much for the reply, Heather, I will try next time maybe with more syrup, does seem like too little for 8 cups of oats...
