Had a REALLY BAD ibs attack in the middle of the night...sat on toilet and broke out into a sweat, severe cramps in belly and thought I was going to fall off the toilet. I am 77 years old and haven't had one of these attacks for a long time. Does anyone else have these symptoms? I know I have been binging on grapes!

Hi - yes, severe attacks can cause hot sweats, cold sweats, shaking, cramps, and sometimes people even pass out from the pain. This is on the extreme end of the pain spectrum with IBS but it is not that uncommon - it happens to me.

Grapes are high fructose and the skin is insoluble fiber - both of those, especially in a large amount on an empty stomach, could have set you off.

See here https://www.helpforibs.com/diet/what_to_eat.asp for what to eat to get your gut calmed down and back on track.

XOXO
