Hello Heather,

I recently had surgery for rectocele. Before my surgery I would have severe constipation with occasional bouts of sudden diarrhea. No time to get to a bathroom. I am normally constipated for a week to 10 days without movement. Eventually I end up with one of these urgent diarrhea episodes. I may have to use the restroom once or twice and then the ordeal is over and the constipation builds again.
I had rectocele surgery 1 week and 2 days ago. I am not allowed to become constipated as this will damage the surgery that has been done. Therefore, the surgeon has prescribed Miralax to keep that from happening. I would like to eliminate this and use something a little more friendly to IBS. I am starting to use your fiber supplement, but I just started and I know it takes awhile for it to work. Any suggestions?

Hello - I'm so sorry you are going through this, and I wish you a speedy recovery.

You should be able to use the tummy fiber to make a gradual transition off the miralax and keep constipation at bay. This is a bit of a process, so go slow and steady - see here for a full article about this https://www.helpforibs.com/news/getting-off-laxatives.asp

XOXO
Heather
