I am having a colonoscopy today - I'm IBS-D - it's been a while since I've had one and I am not sure how to get my GI tract back on track after all this "prep" - any suggestions - on foods, should i return to the fiber dose I was on before the prep? Help please

Hi - please see the post here about colonoscopy prep https://www.helpforibs.com/messageboards/ubbthreads/showthreaded.php?Cat=&Board=diet&Number=373814&Main=373814#Post373814

You can actually keep taking the tummy fiber in plain water - it counts as a "clear liquid" and we've been hearing from folks whose GI docs okay'd this - ask your own doc to be sure.

You don't need to adjust your dose even if you stop and restart it. Right after the procedure stick to plain soluble fiber foods for the next day or two - white rice, instant oatmeal, bananas, cooked peeled potatoes, etc. Plus lots of super strong fennel or peppermint tea to keep your gut relaxed and calm and spasm free. Then you can gradually expand your diet again and keep your gut calm.
