Irritable Bowel Syndrome Message Boards

I am very new to this board, but I did want to post this message so that others might be able to find some relief.
It took four long years of my teenage daughter suffering with IBS before we found Heather's board. Thank Heavens for the IBS diet and acacia fiber. We used that along with the hypnosis tapes and it made a huge difference in my daughter's IBS attacks. We just added two final ingredients that seemed to tip the scales (although it took a few weeks of diligent use before we saw good things): 1) a multi-strain probiotic and 2) a supplement called "Goldenseal". We use a liquid form, and it smells/tastes like swamp water. This is not an exaggeration! But it took away my daughter's IBS pain entirely. When she forgets to take it in the morning, she gets the cramps and pain back again. It may not work for everyone, but it might work for some. I thought I'd pass it along.
Best wishes to everyone on the board--IBS is a miserable disorder, but with Heather's diet, acacia fiber, the hypnosis tapes she offers on her site, a probiotic and Goldenseal, we're seeing an almost normal life for my daughter. Halleluia!
