Does anyone else have a problem when dealing with IBS-d and water? Everytime I have an attack and try to maintain my water consumption, my stomach stays on the borderline feeling (could have another attach, might go away feeling), and I can't explain why this is happening. The water in my area is not really usable for regular drinking water, so its bottled water all the way. Any suggestions???

Hi - I've had that "unstable" feeling you're talking about after an attack. And drinking plain water doesn't usually set well with me in that position. But, very strong hot peppermint tea is very soothing and does set well. So does drinking a diluted soluble fiber supplement - maybe half the dose you normally would take. I'll use Citrucel or Metamucil (which doesn't give me bloating) and let it thicken up just a bit, so it's not as thin as water. That seems to settle me down and still gives me the water I need.

Best,
Heather
