Just wondering if there is lactose in cocoa powder? I noticed that Heather's recipe book contains recipes with cocoa powder and wondered if this is okay with those of us with IBS?

Anyone has trouble with cocoa powder?

Thank you!

Cocoa Powder doesn't have lactose in it, but several of us still have problems with it.

Hi - the recipes use unsweetened baking cocoa powder, like Hershey's. This is different than hot cocoa mix, which can contain milk. Cocoa powder is very low fat, so it's a safe way to bake with chocolate. If you're prone to GERD or super-sensitive to all chocolate, you might not be able to tolerate it. But the odds are very good you'll do just fine.
