So the allergy tests came back negative. ALL of them. But, I could still be INTOLERANT to things even if I'm not ALLERGIC to them.
So...back to square one.
A friend of my hubby's has yeast (yep, a male). He's on a yeast-free diet. I wanted to buy the book "The Yeast Connection" but we don't really have the money right now to buy the book. So I figure I'll try a yeast-free diet and if I get better, I'll know the culprit! (I really hope it's not yeast--I'm addicted to bread, cous-cous, and soy sauce!)
So I need to know what had yeast and what to eat/what not to eat. I know you can't have sugar...does this mean no pasta because it "turns to sugar"?
Any info. you have (I searched on-line and found people selling their products...not helping guide me in terms of diet...)...I would really appreciate!
Hope everyone is well!
*hugs*

Hi, Ruchie. I'm curious to see what info people send you... I am being tested for wheat intolerance at the moment. Nobody's mentioned yeast-free yet. We'll see how that turns out. I'm with you, can't imagine not having bread! I don't have any info about yeast-free diets, but have you tried the library? I'm sure there's got to be something- this is a more and more commonly diagnosed thing recently. Good luck.

I don't personally know much about a yeast-free diet, but a good reference for that type of info (without someone trying to sell you stuff) is WebMD. I have found all kinds of diet info for my grandma's diabetes, etc. And I've seen yeast-free products in the health-food area of my local Kroger grocery store. Good luck to you!

Hi Ruchie! Do a board search for this and for candida. You'll see posts by me and I think by Shawn Eric too. Unfortunately, there's pretty much no medical evidence for a system-wide yeast overgrowth in a person's body (outside of systemic infection, which is blood poisoning, which has a high fatality rate and involves an ICU stay in the hospital). And there's no evidence that a yeast-free diet can do much of anything at all. If someone is battling a yeast infection (like vaginal or thrush) avoiding refined sugars can help. But other than that, the whole Yeast Connection theory has been pretty conclusively disproved for quite a few years now. Many a study has tried to prove the concept positive, and ended up proving the exact opposite.
