Hello,I have a question,
Is it ok to use Equalactin AND Aracia at the same time? I mean, taking them both on the same day, but of course at different times?

I thought Equalactin was something different altogether, but I've checked posts and see that is simply a fiber supplement. Am I correct here?

I would be interested to know if its ok to use them simultaneously. On the same day. Thank you,

Thanks for the response,
Where does it tell you how much fiber is in the Equalactin dosage? I don't find that information anywhere. I'm not quite sure how to add it in because I don't know how much fiber is in each tablet. Thank you.

Hi - I believe there's .5 grams in each tablet. The box should definitely say that, or something inside. It's a FDA labeling requirement so the info is there somewhere.

Check here Soluble fiber supplements for dosages and other info.

Gosh, that isn't very much fiber at all. The packages does not say "how much fiber" it just says 625 mg Calcium Polycarbophil (equivalent to 500 mg Paoly carbohphil). The box says not to exceed 8 pills per 24 hrs.

It just seems odd to me. I can't figure out how much Equalactin to have and how much Arcacia altogether? It's almost easier just to stick with the Arcacia, but I really wanted to try this Equalactin stuff.

Thanks for all your responses Heather. I do appreciate it.

Equalactin as a Med new

I take acacia in the mornings and at night as a daily ritual. I only use the Equalactin when I feel the cramps coming on; for some reason, they really ease the cramps. When I have a full-fledged attack, I pull out the big guns -- Equalactin with my prescription meds -- and I immediately feel a lot better. The prescription meds take about an a hour to two hours to "kick in," while the Equalactin works immediately (it just doesn't work by itself when I'm doubled over).

Bev,
Oh, yeah! Seeing me doubled over was what first started convincing my husband I was really sick. Like they say, a picture is worth a thousand words!

Hi - the 500 mg. of calcium polycarbophil is the fiber. It's a synthetic fiber that acts like a soluble fiber. So, 500 mg. is 1/2 gram - like you said, not much at all.

In fact, it's such a small amount, that I really wouldn't even factor it into your daily fiber calculations. Whatever you're taking for the Acacia, just add the Equalactin on top of it as you like. You'd have to start eating whole boxes of it to really increase your fiber significantly.

Remember too, there is a ton of flexibility in how much fiber you eat. The 35 grams a day minimum is just that. Entire countries eat an average of 70 grams a day, so if you're up to 35 grams a day that doesn't mean you have to suddenly watch your fiber intake. In general (and without going to extremes), the more the better.
