...then we shouldn't need the additional supplements or medicines. Also, my GP said most insurances won't pay for dieticians. My nhs doesn't.

Ah - Since you live in the UK you can ask your doctor for a referral to an NHS dietitian trained in the FODMAP approach. Kings College London does the training and they have information about referrals on their web site

US now has nhs where I'm from..No dieticians available/no $ after a recession for most of us.

other people need to add in supplements, drugs, stress management, etc. And sometimes that varies within a single person's life, not just from person to person.

Use whatever combination of weapons you need to fight IBS - maybe one thing, two things, ten things, and that might change as you get older or get a new job, move to a different climate, have children, etc.
