Hi everyone, can anyone tell me if you experience churning in your stomach as part of IBS and not so much the diarrhea and constipation? Thanks so much

Welcome!

That sensation is not uncommon with IBS. All kinds of GI discomfort are typical - spasms, cramps, sharp pain, dull aches, pressure pain from bloating and gas, churning, etc.

Try a hot cup of very strong, very hot peppermint tea if you think the discomfort is more from spasms/cramps, or a cup of fennel tea if you feel it's related to gas and bloating.

Check here http://www.helpforibs.com/teas/ for full info about herbal teas that are helpful for specific IBS symptoms.

XOXO
Heather

Thank you Heather!! The first thing I ordered from you was the fennel tea, because I was uncertain about the peppermint due to acid reflux, I have taken Nexium for years..uncertain about that too!! But, the fennel tea most certainly DID have a calming effect, I since added the fiber and amazingly after 2 days I felt some relief, EXCEPT I MESSED up and took the half teaspoon from my silverware drawer and not the REAL TEASPOON, so I skipped my 2nd dosage today due to excess gas in my ribcage...HATE THAT, lol...Im thinking I should resume the correct amt tomorrow??? AS I SPEAK I am having a cup of fennel tea, I like it before I go to bed. I have the peppermint capsules but not sure about when to start them?? Also if I may ask, I went shopping for healthy foods , I bought shrimp, gluten, lactose free fettuchini, was wondering what type of sauce I could add to this as well as veggies, this came on to me sudden as I am 57 and am cooking for my husband as well who is 71. I also ordered your cookbook and cant wait to get it. Im having more blood work done after March 1st when my new health care kicks in, im pretty sure im not gluten or lactose intolerant, and I understand as I read that most people who exhibit these IBS symptoms are not necessarily due to these intolerances. Thank you for all you do, I look forward to your response. Sorry you had to have to deal with all this at such a young age. Know that you are helping so many of us now!!! XXOO, Treasa
