I haven't been here for a long time. Babysitting my grandkids & trying to deal with at least weekly attacks have kept me away from iPad.
I feel like I am getting sick too often. I am trying to eat safely but make mistakes. Last Fri. I ate breakfast at Denny's (French toast, egg, coffee, bacon. Went shopping afterwards for 4 hrs. Was sick next day. Sick today. Can salmon have too much fat?

Hi - I'd guess it was the coffee and bacon, both of which are huge IBS triggers. But the French toast was likely deadly too, as it's made with egg yolks, milk or cream, and then fried in butter. Collectively there was a ton of fat in this meal, plus the GI irritant of the coffee.

I'm not sure where the salmon came in. Salmon is a higher fat fish, but still low fat enough to be safe for most folks. If you're really struggling you can stick to white fish.

Best,
Heather

Thank you Heather. I ate the salmon Mon. nt. I was feeling well Mon. i can only tolerate 8-9 gr. of fat.
I think I can become less diligent bec. sometimes I can get away with eating unwise food choices. It is time for me to follow the rules so I won't suffer the consequences.

Hi Suzanne,

I have no problems at all with salmon. But a breakfast you ate at Denny's should give me big problems.
Hope you will be soon feeling well.

I wouldn't have been able to tolerate the Denny's breakfast. All of the things you ate contain huge IBS triggers.

As for the salmon ... I get diarrhea from it about 70 per cent of the time. The fat content is too high for me. I find lake trout, tuna, sole, tilipia and halibut to be much safer fish choices.
