Hello All,

My hubby is making this soup for supper tonight and I am SCARED!! I will just eat a LITTLE of it and have a TON of bread with my special butter on it with the soup.

Wish me LUCK, all as I am going to NEED IT!!!

Well, I didn't eat that much of it and SO FAR at least, I am OK!! But I will NEVER, EVER eat this again!!

I DID have three pieces of bread with the meal and I think that is what is saving me from dire problems!!

BUT I still have not gotten through the night, so we shall SEE!!

Heather,

You were RIGHT of course!! I have had TONS of gas and some gas pains on my lower left side. BUT, thank God, NO diarrhea!!

I told my husband I will NEVER eat this again! I think I should have KNOWN better when he told me he put in 2 pieces of cut of fried bacon, PLUS the bacon grease!!!

WOW!!! It is a true MIRACLE I do NOT have diarrhea or more severe problems!!

I just hope I will be able to drive the 90 miles round trip to a doctor follow-up visit!!

Will keep you guys posted, but now I feel REALLY stupid!!!

If he loves to make it again, maybe he can try turkeybacon in it. It's less fat. Or a fake bacon, vegetarian tasting like bacon. And make sure the beans are purreed. Eat bread befor the soup also and an extra fibre for diner. I think this should help more for you next time. If the beans are canned, make sure to rinse them befor you use it. I hope you are doing well. Saskia

I was pretty gassed up last night but thankfully did NOT suffer any other consequences other than this!

Sometimes I just EAT what I WANT and the effects be DAMNED!!

I am going to counseling soon to deal with my anger over my cancer, IBS and GERD!! Plus I have dry mouth and numb feet from the chemo and radiation.

I hope the counseling helps me!!

Also I will soon purchase the hypnosis tapes! SOMETHING'S gotta work, right??!!

Stay away from canned food!! It's filled with preservatives. It's very, very easy to make a healthy bean soup in the crockpot.
