I thought I had my IBS under control, but a combination of a heat wave and lack of sleep caused a flare up of the dreaded D. I'm reluctant to eat anything because I get bad cramps and spasms, but between the D and the heat I'm drained. Took 3 Immodium yesterday and drank peppermint tea. Does heat and lack of sleep affect others? How do you deal with it?

Other than white rice and white potatoes, what other gluten-free options are safe during a D flare-up? I like Barbara's Puffins, but it has corn bran so I guess that's not good.

Rice, rice noodles, potatoes and all other cooked, peeled root veggies, cornmeal and polenta, oatmeal (should be labeled as gluten free so there is no cross contamination from other grains) quinoa, tapioca, amaranth, buckwheat (soba), pumpkin puree, applesauce, bananas, and soy.
