I'm not good with time so I'm unsure as to how long I've been eating as per Heathers amazing diet (which broke the cycle I was in!) but I've noticed that I'm actually gaining weight I know some of that weight is the return of my muscle mass, which I'd lost after being unable to eat much for two years, but there is differently more fat and I was already large.
I'm having a lot of trouble exercising because anything I do (yes even Yoga) triggers not only cramping by nausea and dizziness add the fact that the weather in Melbourne Australia has been record breaking hot my head (I had heat triggered migraines and Vistbular Migraines which have a lot of nausea and dizziness as their main symptom) has been far too sensitive to do anything. Does anyone have some suggestions as to how I could make my meals more filling? I'm using Heathers Tummy Fiber but I do seem to be constantly hungry now. Has anyone else ever had this problem?

Hi there - can you try swimming for exercise and keeping cool in the heat?

For filling meals, see if you can eat small amounts but frequently. Make sure you're getting IBS safe proteins (seafood, skinless white meat poultry, egg whites, work up to pureed beans or lentils, tofu, etc.)

And make sure there is some fat in there, 20-30% of your calories, heart-healthy choices (olive oil, canola, fatty fish, ground nuts, etc.)

Make sure you're drinking enough liquids throughout the day too, so you don't get thirsty.

Best,
H

Hi,
I have self esteem issues that are preventing me from going swimming and I also don't have the money to buy a swim suit or a pass for the pool. I do, do light yoga and I walk to school (but that's only a short walk) but anything more then that causes pain because I'm apparently that sensitive

I'm doing all those things, with the exception of the egg whites, seafood or white meat (I'm veggie and don't like egg). I do eat small amounts more often but I'm still always hungry and still gaining weight, is there anything else that anyone could suggest?

Believe it or not but my doctor has actually told me I'm drinking too much and I risk flushing out too much salt (which I already lack) and vitamins ect. because I'm always thirsty.

It would be helpful if you could list the meals and snacks you have eaten in the past 2-3 days. It might give us some clues.

The extreme hunger and thirst you're describing are not at all typical of IBS, and the fact that you're having this despite eating and drinking normal amounts is alarming. Please make sure you doc is checking you for problems that can cause these symptoms - this can't be chalked up to IBS.

Best,
Heather
