Hi all, it's been a while since I have had to post on her, thank God! I have been quite stable, but a couple of issues have occured. Once I do not have a gluten allergy, but a gluten intolerance and I'm having a very hard time finding a bread that I can replace. My staple was bakery french country bread. I do not make my own, so I'm looking for suggestions that is tasty and inexpensive.

2) issue I'm going to have a laparoscopy and they do the good ole' clean out before this procedure (like for a colonoscopy) Since I have been doing so well on my citrucel/Heather's tummy fiber regimen, would I still take these the day I'm "cleaning" out? They are both soluble fiber and I don't want to leave anything behind - lol. So I need suggestions if I should not take my fiber the day I drink the laxative stuff. Any help would be appreciated.

I have also become a grandma since I've last posted and I absolutely LOVE it!

Do you want a white bread? If so, you could try Udi's white gluten free bread. It's sort of reasonably priced.

I had a colonoscopy recently and I asked my doctor if I should take my mirilax or anything and he said no. I wouldn't take the fiber supplements if I were you.

Congratulations on becoming a grandma. Spoil him or her.

Thanks Cyndy. I really didn't think I should take something that may bind me, so I won't take the tummy fiber or citrucel. Yes, I want white bread, that is the hardest thing to try not to eat. I've been doing really well with the pasta, I found corn pasta, which I love, found a few gluten free cookies and pretzels I like, but I think you may have me mistaken for someone else, I was never on the FODMAP diet. I have been following Heather's plan since 2003, but since I got sick and lost a lot of weight last year and had so many tests, noting came back conclusive. My GI doctor said if he was a betting man he would have lost money because when he looked at my vili in my small intestines he said they looked just like some who has a gluten allergy. I recently watched a Dr. Oz about leaky gut syndrome and decided to try to go gluten free. One of the hardest things I have ever had to do. I even used the IBS hypnosis tapes as well, loved them!

I have a grandson, his name is Owen. Love him with all my heart and soul!

Hi - ask your doctor if you are allowed a soluble fiber supplement pre-procedure. It's important that you follow directions for the clean out or results can be compromised.

Check here http://www.helpforibs.com/messageboards/ubbthreads/showthreaded.php?Cat=&Board=IBD&Number=20349&page=0&view=expanded&sb=5&o=&fpart=1 for full prep advice.

Good luck, and congrats!

Best,
Heather
